2000 - today

 

In the early 2000's Microelettrica added feeder manager and protection relays including tranducers for DC Traction substations to its product portfolio.

In 2002 the Resistor Division moved to a new and larger facilities in nearby Lacchiarella.

Since 2005 Microelettrica Scientifica is a member of Knorr-Bremse Group, the German world leader in rail and commercial vehicles braking systems.

Microelettrica Scientifica continues to grow also also by opening local assembly facilities in India and China within Knorr-Bremse and own factories and by the acquisition of Officine de Zan, a frame manufacturing facility and EMC Traction, one of the world's leading companies in the design and production of DC High Speed Circuit Breakers and DC Switchgears.

Further growth was created in 2010 with the acquisition of Heine Resistors GmbH, a specialist in rail and industrial resistors based in Dresden Germany, including its fully owned Chinese Subsidiary Heine Resistors Suzhou, and with the foundation of Microelettrica do Brasila new subsidiary fully dedicated to the South American markets.

In 2011 the acquisition of Comet Axial Fans S.r.l. followed. Comet is based in nearby Solaro and is a specialist in ventilators for rail and industrial applications. Also, a new subsidiary was founded, MSA Elektronik in Istanbul-Turkey, to service the Middle East markets.

In 2012 our Italian sites moved to one new facility in Buccinasco.

In 2014 has been completed the 60% acquisition of the company Casram Rail S.p.A. based in Cirimido. Casram Rail is a leading Italian company in the development of solutions, systems and products in the field of safety, of communication and control systems and of electronics obsolescence.
